Stearyl Alcohol

Stearyl alcohol, also known as 1-octadecanol and n-neneneba octadecane alcohol, with the Molecular formula of C18H38O, belongs to long-chain high carbon fatty alcohols. The appearance is white flake or needle like crystals, or block like solids, with a fragrant odor and low volatility. It cannot be dissolved in water, but can be dissolved in organic solvents such as chloroform, alcohol, ether, acetone, benzene, etc. It is slightly toxic, slightly irritating to the eyes and skin, flammable, and its dust can form explosive mixtures with air. Its main use is as an organic synthetic raw material.
